Welding with metals like copper, brass, aluminium and scrap can be more complicated than welding with something like steel, so always make sure you do some research into it and follow the guidelines of your welding equipment.
You can also speak to your metal suppliers for advice on how to approach your project and the best ways to use the metal you buy from them. On that note, here are some simple safety products you can look into for general welding that should help keep you out of danger:
Flashback arrestors: Mostly found in gas welding, valves make sure that gas flows in the right direction, away from the machine itself.
Voltage reduction: Ensures that the voltage of the machine is maintained at a safe level.
Air systems: These remove harmful chemical fumes and maintain a constant flow of air to the welding area.
